Description: Twin brothers Tim and Fred Williams have a YouTube channel called “Twins the New Trend” that is based on videos of their reactions to hearing music for the first time. The duo is creating some new trends in the way of exposing their viewers to music they might have never heard of before, just like the Williams brothers. These reaction videos are created in a makeshift studio inside of their bedroom where they record video after video of themselves responding to a wide variety of music genres. While most of the songs are familiar to the audience, Fred & Tim have never heard them before. The brothers are able to create a real sense of intimacy by sharing their home with viewers. There is no elaborate set up; no studio per say, it is just the twins sitting in comfortable chairs with a Tupac poster hung on the wall in the background and headphones on watching music videos. Fred & Tim are sharing some of their personal affects and real, raw emotions to the songs with little to no editing. It feels so personal to watch. Fred & Tim also produce an amazing amount of authenticity through their extremely genuine reactions to songs. The brothers will stop and start the music multiple times throughout its play and give the audience their take on how it is making them feel. They often bob their heads, beat their chests, laugh or raise an arm to the sky as inspired by the lyrics and vibe each song conveys. There are some videos where the twins’ eyes will well up with tears in response to the way the music is making them feel, and you cannot get much more authentic than that.
