COMM 372 T - Intro to New Media Technologies: Reflection Post

Redesigning my Wix site is my main focus for this semester. I have worked in Wix for many classes, and while they always ask you to curate your site by continuing to develop the content and features, they usually do not want you to redesign the layout. However, when reflecting on my Wix site and the branding I want to give myself, it is in dire need of a makeover.

I've got to represent my brand!

The site is a bit dated in the color scheme and interactivity, which go directly against my brand marketing skillset. Although I will continue to optimize the site for search engines and add to the professional attributes of the content, I also need to bring the look and feel current.

I have not found Wix to be too terribly difficult to use. In fact, since the last course I took where an ePortfolio was a requirement, the Wix site has updated many of the tools used to create a custom website. At first glance they seem to be relatively easier and more user-friendly than the site tools were before. We shall see how my site turns out after I attempt to redesign it and if Wix has really made it a more efficient process.
